You'll have no problem I'm sure. Two of my three installations were over my crawl space -- the big thing is measuring to hit the inside of the wall.

I'll disagree about the tester also. You can waste a lot of time troubleshooting if you don't have one.

Thanks for all the detail and the Pics John! Great Job!

I think my most difficult part will be trying to come up from the crawlspace and hit the wall cavity in the right spot.

Its a little easier to do with a full basement.

I am up for the challenge though. ;-)

 

One thing I've done in the past is to go the other way. You're going to put a hole into the wall anyway, so do that first, then get yourself a long, skinny drill bit and drill down into the crawlspace from above. If you have more than one hole to drill, replace the drill bit with a piece of coat hanger or something similar to make it simpler to find the locations of the holes from the crawlspace. Then, from the crawlspace, drill up with your 1" bit, a little to the side of the smaller hole you drilled to find the location (to take into account the angle you had to drill at from above).
