Windows 8 tips and tricks

John's comments on latest HSS podcast ref. little known ability for Windows 8 to create archived changes to your Libraries (ala shadow copies on steroids) got me thinking. So here is my first tip.

 

create a batch file with one line in it:

shutdown -t 0 -r -f

and place it on the desktop.

 

Voila! No more twelve clicks to restart the computer!

Or if you are Microsoft you can replace the GD start button which is obviously where you go to, err, stop, err, OK. Never mind.

"Kill switch",

"Tiles based start screen" and,

"Touch panel.."

 

These are the new features of window 8 which doesn't exist in any older version of windows.
