Joe_Miner 254 Posted March 23, 2012 http://www.newegg.co...-_-22148844-L0H with Promo Code EMCNGHG74 Those are nice drives -- their performance has certainly impressed me! Nice catch.
Mr_Smartepants 16 Posted March 23, 2012 So even after the promo code they're still more expensive than the Amazon links I posted here: $169.99 http://homeservershow.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3604-seagate-3tb-drive-19999-fs/page__view__findpost__p__37596 and here: Reduced to $164.99 http://homeservershow.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3604-seagate-3tb-drive-19999-fs/page__view__findpost__p__37681
ImTheTypeOfGuy 54 Posted April 17, 2012 Any reason these wouldn't work in a raid 5 on a HP RR 2720sgl?
Joe_Miner 254 Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Looks like the price continues to drop http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B005T3GRLY/ at $159.99 now! I only have one of these (so Far) -- it is a really nice (and fast) drive. Check my performance of the 3TB Seagate's at http://homeservershow.com/hp-microserver-n40l-build-and-bios-modification.html it;s on a SATA II port so a SATA III would be even faster! Well, I won't have time to build an array any time soon so I will hold off on buying four of these for now. Hopefully I may have time in May.

That would save me $80. Off to newegg to make a purchase. PS Will these work in WHS v1?
jmwills 284 Posted April 17, 2012 Absolutely maybe! I believe V1 will only see a max of 2TB in any one volume but I have no idea about adding them to a pool.
