Trouble Adding a drive in WHS 2011 with raid 5

Recommended Posts

tomjules

Hello,

I have a WHS 2011 box with the Os on a seperate HD and an Adaptec 3405 Raid card running in RAId 5 for my data. I have 3 - 2tb drives attached and am trying to add a 4th.

In Adaptec's Storage Manager, it shows all 4 drives active and on line, but WHS only shows about 4 TB of space.

I think I messed up by not creating logical drives. I partitioned several drives from the physical one (for Music. pictures, Video, and Data).

If I try to create a logical drives now I'm sure I'll loose all my data.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tom

Don't you already have a thread started on this?

I don't think so. I did drop this same post on tomshardware.com.

This is my first post here so if I duplicated it, sorry.

thanks for the heads up Ikon.

Yes I did miss those posts, and actually don't know how this post got here. It shows post time of 7:31am today. I was sleeping then and didn't go on line until this afternoon.

I'm obviously still getting used to posting on this site.

I believe the forum software uses GMT as it's time source so, depending on where you are, the displayed time could be quite a few hours ahead or behind you.
