Actually now that you mention it. That cable sucked. LOL. I wasn't able to easily disconnect it. Eventually, I just gave it a firm tug straight up after removing that clip on it. and it came out. I was worried I broke something though... but all was well

Yeh, I think "sucked" is the correct technical term. JMWills is the only guy I know who didn't admit to any problems with it. I ended up using small screwdriver to bend the casing slightly to get it out -- I think JazzerJay and TexasPI were using chainsaws or hammers though they may have exaggerated some and I am pretty gullable.

I might try non-ecc (i know that works from other forum posts). it's only $104 from newegg for a cheap 2x8 dual channel kit. it that works then I'd grab the ECC equivelant for the second server. if it doesn't, i can always use it in a hyper-v install on desktop hardware.

I wanted to play with the P2V using a hyper-v guest to vmware anyway...wow, I'm really talking myself into this, better be careful.

Did it work?

I was thinking specifically of WHS. It doesn't have an 8GB limit either?

Yes, WHS 2011 is limited to 8 Gigs of RAM.
