RF Media Center Remote

I'm looking for a new remote for my media center PC. I feel like it would really like to have an RF remote. The one that came with my tuner card is just junk. The receiver does not work properly. On the plus side, I can use it to control my xbox.

I sort of feel like I might just have a bad apple with my remote and receiver, but now I have a bad taste in my mouth over the use of IR remotes. I guess most rest of the world can't be wrong about IR media center remotes. So let me have it, what remotes are you using?

I bought a couple of these when they were on sale: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16880101003. I bought them as backups, in case my AverMedia unit gave out. It hasn't yet, so I'm still using it. I did try out the Rosewills, however, just to be sure they worked - they did. I did not try the IR receivers though, because the AverMedia one was still plugged in (maybe I should do that ;) )

Interestingly, it appears this Rosewill unit is out of stock; who knows if it will ever come back. However, they have some others:

I have lusted over the 900 for a while, but if the accounting department ever found out that I spent 200 some dollars on a remote, I don't know what would happen. I think what I really need might just be a new IR receiver. This is because the remote I have works fine with the Xbox but it sucks with the PC. After a quick look on Amazon though, a receiver by itself is about $20.

Perhaps I will wait to see how ikon's testing of the Rosewill IR receivers goes prior to my jumping into any one particular remote.

Additionally, if you think that I might be being a bit irrational about the whole thing just say "Tim, I have never had an issue, it must be your IR receiver."

I have an extra one that I could part with.
