samiam79 0
Has anyone figured out a way to view the actual content on a designated server backup drive? I am backing up all of my content (Client Backups, Docs, Music, etc.) to an external 500GIG USB HDD. Although I can see the server backup drive and how much space is used, I can't view the actual files on there. I've tried accessing from Explorer and even through a command prompt, but it won't allow me to see the contents of the drive. Is there a way to see this?
jmwills 284
You can see the client backups and open them, correct?
samiam79 0
Yep, I'm able to see the client backups. Just can't see the content on the server backup. If, for instance, I wanted to delete file(s) from the server backup, doesn't seem that this option is availalbe.
jmwills 284
Why would you want to delete files from a server backup? The server backups were not meant to be manipulated like that, only for recovery purposes.
ikon 439
Isn't the server backup in VHD format? Isn't why it's limited to 2 TB? If so, I believe there is a way to mount a VHD and see its contents.
jmwills 284
A Windows 7 box could mount that image and do whatever you want to with it. I'd leave it alone.
