Zed
I have purchased the Rocketraid 2720 for my 2011 server upgrade (wanted redundancy and larger than 2TB drives) - the mb is the Asus P7H55-M/USB3 which has 6x intel sata 3.0 and 2x Marvell 6.0 ports but no raid. The mb was purchased before the DE removal announcement. Has anyone combined one of the drive extender replacements with a raid card - ie do they coexist?. So can I have bunch of disks on the raid card and a bunch of disks on the MB grouped using Drive Extender Replacement. Also if yes, any recommendation on the driver extender replacement to use? thanks
ikon
Can't see why it wouldn't work technically. Only you can decide if you feel the DE replacements are ready for prime time yet. I said in another post that I wouldn't be afraid to try a DE replacement, as long as I had 2 complete backups of the data on other drives.
Zed
Thanks Ikon - I think i will start with the raid card and add the DE once released
