Power Pack 3 compression issue

I use Windows Media Center 7 and a HD PVR (via DVBLink 2.0) to record my television programs. The wtv file has the AC3 for the audio. The power pack 3 addin will not compress the file into any of the available formats. In the activity log it says it does not have the AC3 codec so I installed one that was suggested on the Home Server Blog. This did not work and now gives me the message "A problem occurred while compressing this file." Then I tried various AC3 codec from download.com and can not find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"A problem occurred while compressing this file."

I am getting this error also when trying to convert my TV recordings to a different format when archiving to the WHS.

Does anyone know how I can get more information regarding what the actual problem is? Is it a codec issue?

Thanks,

John

I've switched over to this program. MCEBuddy/ It runs on my media center "server" and converts each recording to MP4 and then transfers it to my server. I can then add the TV show to my iPad via the ZumoCast app without syncing to a PC. It's probably not a solution for everyone but seems to work for me.

Thanks Dave.

I will give MCEBuddy a try, it seems to have more flexibility. I have heard of it, but it is hard to keep all of the add-ins and programs that are available straight!!!
