Newegg has this Crucial drive to go on sale as a Shell Shocker today from 10:00-12:59P PST. Anyone have any thoughts on this deal? Good, bad, meh?

I have this drive and the its big brother. Decent read and bad writes. They are great choices for HTPC's. They work a bit better with Sata 3. I have been running mine for several months with no issues. I have recommended these for people who are looking at SSD's for an HTPC. For a general purpose system, I would go for a Vertex 2 as the writes are better at the cost of a bit of read performance.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll get one for my HTPC as you suggest.

I put two of these in a Raid 0 array in my HTPC 6months ago. I would have bought two more , but they were sold out! :( I attached speed test results for the Raid )

BTW I could care less about the Write performance on my HTPC , for my OS drive.

Nice read speeds for sure. I'm jealous..... just a bit. ;)
