Joe_Miner
Can the 2720 be set up to for RAID 1 with 4 mirrored pairs?
jmwills
Are you talking 4 disks or 8? I think you can but you would need independent disk controllers for each pair. I've never seen this done even in an Enterprise environment.
ikon
Can the 2720 be set up to for RAID 1 with 4 mirrored pairs? You might want to check on the maximum number of arrays allowed by that card. If it says 4 or more then I would suspect you can do 4 RAID1's.

jmwills
What's the end goal? I don't see what you will gain. Just curious.

Just curious. 1. curiosity 2. keeping my options open 3. potential reliability 4. learning more about storage and 2720's
Guest no-control
I'm wondering too. Seems like it would lead to wasted space at the ends of arrays. It would be the only way to configure server backup in WHS for drives and maintain uptime should a drive go down. Otherwise RAID 10 would be more efficient for redundancy. Raid 5 more cost effective.
