Heartbleed

OpenSSL. Since Microsoft IIS does not use it at all... it's not an issue here. In fact, it's immune to Heartbleed attacks.

And WHS 2011, and Server 2012(R2) Essentials use IIS. 

 

Also, there is no such thing as "security". it's an illusion that we delude ourselves with. At best, we hope we can stay ahead of it. 

That is something that running Sophos UTM has taught me.

 

 

Also, as Ikon basically points out, doesn't VPN have more points of failure/vulnerability there?

More points doesn't mean more points if failure for me. Thats like saying using a simple pasword is safer than three factor authentication.
