How to read the Backup Disk

I wanted to verify that the backup disk was working correctly, so I did the following investigation.

When you browse the disk you will see a vhd file for each hard drive that you have in your backup file. I have 5 of them, since I am backing up the System, C, D, and two data drives. The two data drives are obviously the large ones...

Steps

Go do disk management and right click and select "Attach VHD".

Browse to the vhd file that you want, these are not labeled.

You will now have a drive that looks exactly like the drive you have on your server.

This is just the files that were in the last backup, I am not sure how to view the other files.

I use a diff tool to verify that all of the files are exactly the same and it came back with all identical, so I feel much better...

Question:

How do you see the earlier versions. I can see them if I add the disk to the home server as a backup disk, but I only see the latest version in the VHD file. Does anyone know how to do this.
