Do all trans coding on the most bad ass machine you have. Who wants to wait forever.

 

My GSXR doesn't do transcoding.

Only thing I can remember is that Sandy Bridge still doesn't play nicely with a 23.976 frame rate used to play back movies like in a movie theater, where as AMD has that down pretty nicely. Otherwise, I'd say the Intel HD series chips are fine as a GPU.

true ,but this only applies if you're a videophile. Most people cannot tell there is a dropped frame.

 

I guess, but I'd say if you are building a home server, you have an increased chance of being a videophile compared to everyone else...
