Run away. What your company didn't tell you is that they gave it to you because they didn't want to have to pay a recycler to dispose of it. By not giving you drives, they basically neutered the thing to practically no value. By the time you add drives and more memory, you've dropped enough money that you could have built a newer 3000 series Xeon box that frankly would perform faster. If I remember correctly, that particular server, while 64-bit, still used the old netburst architecture.

 

We discussed the recycling issue so no worries. Thanks for the comments.

To the dump it goes. Although, I may pull everything out of it and throw it in the wetlands behind my house and see if it can create an artificial habitat for some fish.
