vivant
Hello everyone, I installed 2x WD Red 10 Tb drives on my Microserver Gen 8 because I want to used them for long term data storage while running Windows Server 2019 Left the server powered off for a couple of days and noticed the drives were still hot to the touch before I powered it back on. I keep the server in a room with no direct sunlight or anything source of heat. Same thing happens when I installed 2x WD Blue drives in the same Microserver Gen 8 Did someone else encounter this issue ? What could I do to keep the drives cooler in the Microserver Gen 8 when I keep it turned off ?
Trig0r
If its powered off then you really wouldn't expect the drives to be warm, is it actually powered off or just in a standby mode..
vivant
It was completely powered off. I didn't unplug it from the wall socket or anything. Also Windows Server 2019 has no standby mode option (sleep or hibernate)
