M.2 PCIe card

Hi,

I recently came in possession of 5 x HPE Microservers Gen10+, since the company decided to throw them away.

They all have the Intel Xeon 2224 and 32GB of memory, but no disks.

So i went through my old hardware, and found out that i could fit each of the servers with 2 x Samsung Evo 850 500GB disks, and 2 x 2-4TB of mechanical disks.

But i want to include an M2 disk for the os installed physically on the box.

Ive never owned an HPE Microserver before, but based on an few forum posts, it should be possible to install an PCIe m2 card in the server - fx like this one:

https://www.proshop.dk/Harddisk-tilbehoer/dezen-PCI-Express-x4-to-M2-PCIe/2875765

Ive already checked the the PCIe x16 below the iLO card is available.

I dont need my M2 discs to be redundant in any way, just fast storage :)

So will that card work for me, or have i missed something obvious?

And since this is my first HPE Microservers, can you recommend some projects to use it for? :)

as you are just adding a single M.2 NVMe device that card should work fine.

As for projects, they work well for storage servers or virtual application servers, ESXi, HyperV, Proxmox
