lluisd
I have a problem when I download some torrents (not always). There is a pitch noise that tics every second, when I stop the download it stops. It happens to all of my 3 HDDs (2 wd red plus and 1 wd blue), I tried all of them individually. I added 2 examples where you can heard that high pitch noise ticking every second. Edited February 15 by lluisd
lluisd
Seems that I unmounted and mounted the CPU again and the noise is over. Perahps some vibration from the CPU heat sink... I don't know but it was not related to the ethernet port neither the HDD
oj88
Sounded like coil whine. Happens when the CPU or other sub-systems draw a lot of current. Coil whine is somewhat difficult to localize because the frequency is high enough that it may be perceived to be coming from anywhere BUT the actual source.
