ML150 Gen9 CPU upgrade

Firstly I apologize for placing my topic in the ML10/ML30 group but I can't find one for the ML150.

I currently own a ML150 Gen9 with an Intel Xeon E5-2620V3. Can I replace this with an Intel Xeon E5-2630V4?

HPE support tells me it is a factory pre-configured model which cannot be upgraded.

To me this seems nonsense as the ML150 Gen9 tech specs list a number of supported E5-26xx V3 and V4 CPU models

Any thoughts?

I can't think of a reason why you couldn't, as it is a supported CPU on your server. You would want to update your BIOS and firmware prior to swapping CPUs. Power draw appears to be the same for the two CPU, so your existing heat sink should work. Memory speed is different, so you would want to upgrade memory.
