Dead network ports in Gen8?

Weird one here, server went offline, couldn't ping by IP or hostname. Checked it and Windows said no network connection, troubleshooter says no ethernet connected.

Tried a new cable, the switch port is fine, tried both network ports and the iLO port on the server but at no point do any of the status LEDs illuminate on the server port or switch. In device manager both ports show under network adapters with no exclamation marks. I don't think it is an IP issue as the status lights would light up and would be a different error in troubleshooter.

Device is connected to a UPS, I powered off, removed the power cable and UPS data cable, discharged server then powered up without UPS cable and still the same. Server boots up fine and has a display output so this just affects the network ports. Can't see how anything would have changed in the BIOS but will check.

Anyone seen this before? I found one thread on here but no resolution and only a couple of replies. Just find it odd that anything could kill the network ports and the iLO port. Will run SPP next time I am at the workshop to update everything, forgot to check if there had been any recent Windows updates.

Thanks

The drivers on this box are running the same as my home box (Microsoft 214.0.0.0), and both are running Win 10 1909 at the moment. I tried installing the latest on the HP site (https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_d07f1f998bcc40f2a912f37c7f&swEnvOid=4231) and still the same issue.

I ran the latest FW update (https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_2ab6d25c9afd48adbc98838d77) which upgraded 16.6.0 --> 17.4.41 and then we got activity lights on the NIC ports.

Looks like it may be the FW upgrade that is required, odd that the old FW would suddenly stop working and even the activity LEDs would not illuminate yet the hardware showed ok in device manager.

I'm not sure when I will next be there but it is connected to the network now so hopefully a perm fix.
