Rodf
When I was working on putting the new SSD in, I had got a 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch adapter. However, it wouldn't fit into the hard drive bay. So, still using the adapter I connected it to to frame. Did I do wrong?
nrf
wrong is a funny word in this context. is the drive accessible to the cables and not going to shift around? you should be good. sometimes I have been known to have a ssd just 'sitting in there' and I am not afraid because I don't transport my 20 pound pcs.
Al_Borges
as long as it doesn't block airflow in the case you will be fine. I've attached SSD's with double sided tape to inside and lived 1
ShadowPeo
As the others said, pretty much whatever works, if it does not move easily, seriously impede airflow or allow the cables to move too much (and then break the SSD connector - seen this before it does happen) then you should be good
