demiurg 0
Does anyone already have some experience with a non-standard CPU? https://www.servethehome.com/hpe-proliant-microserver-gen10-plus-ultimate-customization-guide/2/ E.g. Xeon E-2236
Jason 84
Really hoped this box supported Intel QuickSync on CPU. Seems like a miss.
doudoufr 0
i installed a core I5 8400 and it works :-)
Jason 84
HP indicated a Xeon with QuickSync support wouldn’t work on the G10+. Not a big deal. Just started setting mine up. Added a PCIe NVMe card to boot from M.2 NVMe drive. Installing WS2019 Std. Just not a VMWare ESXi fan.
Trig0r 211
Pretty sure QuickSync and stuff like that is unlikely to be supported in a server type device, regardless of what CPU you put in there..
GarethC 29
E-2246G works amazingly, I thought the E3-1230v2 I had in my Gen8 was impressive, but this is a definite step up.
Jason 84
Do you have to reinstall the OS after a CPU swap? Or is it seamlessly detected?
GarethC 29
I installed the CPU prior to installing the OS, i'm pretty sure it would be seemless though. Edited August 24, 2020 by GarethC

Jason 84
Oops. Nevermind. Intel QuickSync won’t work in Gen10 Plus even with an E-2246G CPU.https://community.hpe.com/t5/proliant-servers-netservers/microserver-gen10-plus-and-intel-quick-sync/td-p/7084407/page/
