Jason 84
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Would prefer to resolve this issue, if possible, and not do a clean OS reinstall. I suppose if I had to, I'd have to install either WSE16 or WS19. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6f6d4d9a-f740-47b7-a8f4-6c26ba7c3ed3/windows-server-backup-ws2012r2-the-windows-server-backup-service-has-stopped-after-removing?forum=windowsbackup
Jason 84
For anyone who may encounter this with WS2012R2, I've been working directly with Microsoft's SBS engineers. Short version -- I've identified that wbengine.exe causes an NTDLL.DLL fault when running the latest 2015-2019 Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries (x86, x64). The fix is to rollback to an earlier version and not all them to be upgraded. This is a temporary workaround until their engineers are able to issue a fix.
