ahhh yes, the original ssd was 64gigs. that makes sense.

was wondering if theres anyway of accessing the SSA utility? when i tried accessing it from boot, it would give me an error "An operating sytem wasnt found. Try disconnecting any drives that dont contain an operating system"

i tried using a bootable usb drive but that gave me errors too.

File: \Boot\BCD

Error code: 0xc000000f

thanks heaps

I am very tempted in proceeding ahead and installing windows on the 59gb space.  Perhaps then, that would allow me to access SSA utility properly then. Would this be a way to move forward, then recover the missing space?

thanks for your advice schoondoggy.

for some reason it just doesnt want to boot the b120i from usb, and ive tried updating the BIOS. It keeps complaining theres no OS. i then tried plugging the original hard disk in and try boot into b120i or upgrade the bios and it just skips the usb boot and goes straight into windows.

the usb is plugged into usb 2.0 ports and it definitely does boot as ive swapped them around to test.

have i busted my microserver? shame theres no factory resets on these things.

I didnt unfortunately. i ended up pushing forward and sacrificed 120gigs just to get the fix moving.

got some time again so going to continue to investigate further.

At least i got my server up and running again :D
