Hi, I'm new here, and with my MicroServer Gen 8.

I have two, exactly the same for testing / use.

Currently both are:

 - 1 Kingston 480GB SSD - ODD Port
 - 2x HDD 1TB 5400RPM 64MB Cache - Port / Bay 1-2
 - Pentium G2020T
 - 8GB Ram
 - iLO4 Advanced
 - B120i internal controller

It was running VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-Update3-9313334-HPE-preGen9-600.9.8.5.4-Sep2018, but unfortunately it was very slow to read / write the disks. That's when I saw posts reporting the driver version issue.

Well, I decided to update VMware-ESXi-6.5.0-Update2-9298722-HPE-preGen9-650.U2.9.6.8.3-Sep2018, and already downgraded the scsi-hpvsa drive and disabled the AHCI module

esxcli software vib remove -n scsi-hpvsa -f
esxcli software vib install -v file: /tmp/scsi-hpvsa-5.5.0-88OEM.550.0.0.1331820.x86_64.vib --force --no-sig-check --maintenance-mode
esxcli system module set --enabled = false --module = vmw_ahci

It has greatly improved speed, but the question is:

Today, in 2020, what is the best version of VMWare ESXi to use? Should I really downgrade the drive?

What do you recommend?
