I was playing with vsphere 7 today (latest build) and just did a stock clean install, not the HP image.

P222 raid

the storage on that raid array is incredibly slow, so I’m missing a driver or something. I’ll blow it away and try a supported HP build.

Can someone share the latest supported image name please? Maybe ver 6.5?

thanks

Not sure if it is the latest but I used 7.0.1 HPE image on mine with P222 and it worked ok.

Know I'm reviving from the dead but I could not find the info and it may help someone else.

Installed ESXi 7.0 U2 -- ProLiant -- New*ESXi 7.0 U2 May 2021

From here and then ran an update through esxcli to the latest build 18538813 U2d ( U3 has issues don't do it)

https://www.hpe.com/us/en/servers/hpe-esxi.html

No issues so far but only just started testing. 16gb ram and a 1270 v2 CPU installed using AHCI mode.

CPU mark and crystaldiskmark under a win10 vm are showing great results, only have a very old shitty ssd to test with though at the moment. 80gb SSD ahah... how far we have come.
