Mobile equipment rack.

I'm looking for mobile/portable racks on casters for my switches, a UPS and maybe a couple of 1 or 2 U servers.  I presently live in an apartment and expect to move again probably a few times more in my lifetime.  Any recommendations?  I see quite a bit of options on eBay for A/V equipment.

Take a look at this.

LackRack - Eth0Wiki
https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/LackRack

The LackRack is pure garbage as it's wooden.  I've reracked equipment many times during my IT pro tenure (1989-2013).  My early retirement from the business is because I can't lift more than 50 lbs as a complication of major spine surgery.  Basically my employer put a higher priority on being able to dead lift and bench press APC Symmetra battery packs and UPSes and Cisco 6506s and 7513s over brains and experience and put me out to pasture.

Racks take a beating with respect to mounting and weight distribution.  A Lack table can't handle that type of beating.  I've had to deal with racks and IDF cabinets with bad threads.  It doesn't take much to make that go to Hell in a hand basket.  It will be much worse with wood.

You may be able to perhaps rerack this twice or thrice.  Once you use it, expect to toss it if you do an equipment upgrade or (warranty) replacement.  If tossing the LackRack is part of your replacement or upgrade plan then it may be viable.  You have an obvious weight limitation with anything wooden.  I wouldn't trust this to rack my Cisco WS-C3550G-12T much less an APC UPS.

From someone who has worked the business professionally for over 24 years; this is a Bad Idea™.  The only good thing about the LackRack is that it's cheap which appeals to this group.

maybe not the whole group.... in any case there is 'cheap' and 'affordable'.

for those of lesser means lots of this equipment shows up at your local fasttrack/bidfta or at various surplus outlets, even ebay or craigslist or facebook...

the wooden stuff is barely able to function as itself let alone serve a commercial equipment function, although for a quick/urgent one time use perhaps.... it is an inspired hack in the short term.

getting a pure sine wave APC SMART UPS for $65 because of non-functional scratch/dents may seem cheap but I say it is smart...

From someone who has worked the Enterprise IT business professionally for over 35 years, I have used these for trade shows and demo gear:

Height, depth and shock rating vary. Craigslist, eBay and band equipment shops are good sources for used.

FYI, there are lots of robust travel racks that are wood based. I have used these many times:
