Tried that latest driver you linked and no joy.

I'm downloading that 700mb SSA program zip.  For some reason it is saying 2hr more, super slow downloading from HP.  Maybe the Windows 7 thing going on?

Sounds like you may have a bad P410

But I could see the drive before I pull it offline about 2 years ago.  How could it die on the shelf not powered up?  Do you think it would be even remotely advantageous to track down another P410?

Should I at least try opening it up and try reseating everything

It is not a bad idea to check inside. The SSA should be able to give you the status of the P410.

I need to make a bootable flash to run it right.

Yes, I believe the instructions detail using HPE USB KEY to make a bootable USB.

I think I have used Rufus as well.

I can’t boot off a USB can I?  Because no UEFI and no CD drive.  The download was an iso.

I have booted older HPE servers, non UEFI, from USB with older SSA, I had not seen 'Booting from a USB key is supported only for UEFI mode listed in the instructions'. I would try to make a bootable USB with this ISO. If it does not work, you may need to find an older copy of SSA or ACU that supports non UEFI systems.

I tried using Rufus and that didn't seem to work.  You don't need a license to use the HP USB Key?  I thought it said you did on the download page you linked so didn't try it yet.  Will look again after work
