HSSRoss
I've just ordered a P410 for my N54L and was wondering if this would enable me to somehow implement RAID on the drive bay drives, as the P410 has 2 ports?
schoondoggy
You can move the front bay connector from the motherboard to the P410. What OS are you using?
LVLouisCyphre
You can run software RAID with FreeBSD, FreeNAS and XigmaNAS (formerly NAS4Free) using the existing SATA controllers. Just max out the ECC memory and you're good. You can run RAID6 in an HP Microserver using four drives. ZFS does the RAID functionality which negates the need for a hardware RAID controller. IMO, this is the HP Microserver calling which is what I've delegated my pair of N54Ls I acquired used in excellent condition on eBay. The only drawback of the HP Microserver G7 is that the onboard NIC doesn't support jumbo frames and the lack of PCIe slots. You need to chose wisely what you're going to populate the PCIe slots with especially if you have the IPMI card installed.
