Yeah but does asm2824 works on gen8 for dual nvme ssd?

Price difference is about 80usd between that and the msata model

I do not know if the asm2824 would be supported, someone would need to try it. You wouldnt need a dual slot bifurcated board if you just use one NVMe M.2 SSD. One fast NVMe M.2 SSD would be faster than four mSATA in RAID0 and cheaper.

But I want it to be raid 1......

1tb or 2tb

That should do for hot data, hdd will be storage for cold data

If you are considering going to mSATA RAID1, you could go with a inexpensive LSI RAID card and two 2.5" SATA SSD in the ODD bay. That would be the most cost effective route and would be the same performance as the mSATA.

It should as it is SATA and not NVMe.

OS support will be dependent on what SATA controller is used on the board.

It doesn't come with a LP bracket, is that OK?

From the words on the pcb it's asm1062r chip

You would need a LP bracket to mount it. You should confirm that it is a LP card, height of PCB.

Bottom of the page shows the card is 65mm tall. That should be fine.

If the holes are placed like other RAID/storage cards a standard LP bracket should work:

Lets dig this quite old thread out.

I have read that those qnap dual/quad m.2 nvme cards work also on non qnap systems. They also say they have a pcie switch on board. Anyone have tried those? I am going to to try the cheapest one QM2-2P-244A -> 2xnvme on a pcie gen2 x4

They also have gen3 with x8 interface up to 4 nvme drives. All say they have pcie switch on board. Maybe this switch means they dont rely on cpu/mobo bifurcation?
