PCIe to Dual NVME Adapter

For NVMe to boot you need a UEFI BIOS, which the MS Gen8 does not have. RAID for NVMe is possible on motherboards that support the latest Intel RST features and have two NVMe capable M.2 slots. As @korbymentioned, the board you have posted above is likely one NVMe M.2 slot and one SATA M.2 slot. There are dual NVMe M.2 cards available, but I have not seen one with any RAID features. I have not tried NVMe in a MS Gen8, it may work as a storage device, if the OS has NVMe support, but it will not be bootable.

I tried a similar NVME to PCIe adapter, with a single SSD - it wasn't even recognised by the server.

What OS was running on the server?

Image result for dual nvme pcie

How about this one?

I don't need it to boot, just be a SSD RAID front end for HDD RAID back end, system OS (Linux) on USB

Thx!

Hi

I have the Nvme+sata card with the SATA connected to the 5th sata port and it boots up from there. I also have a Nvme drive installed but it is storage only. Win 10 OS
