Check the cable from the backplane to the system board. remove the cable from the system board and reinsert it to be sure you have a good connection and that it kicks into place. Make sure there is no tension on the cable. Have you ever had drives work in bays 2-3-4?

Yes, i did use to have drives there, i suspected it might be a faulty cable.

any good online video on how check?

I replaced my CPU, added RAM, GPU but never touched the bays.

I had exactly this problem when I provisioned my first Gen8.

I took the cover off, removed the backplane, ensured the SATA/SAS cabling was in good condition, tightened up the screws on the drive cage and the SATA/SAS connectors, and reassembled it.  Then I made sure to use properly sized screws to hold my 3.5" drives in place in their caddies.  This made a LOT of difference.  My drives were then recognized.

Often after moving around or transport, hardware components need to be reseated to ensure solid connections.
