mSATA to USB Adapter for the Internal USB Port?

Does it work? 

 

I know USB 2.0 will limit the performance but for boot drives I think it's fine... It's a very simple setup... no need floppy to SATA power, etc...

It should work. Could be a good way to use some of the smaller mSATA drives I have lying around. A mSATA drive in this should be more reliable than a plain USB drive, different FLASH technology.

ok my usb drive dead... suddenly unwritable....

 

i wonder if the first one maybe too "wide" to interfere with the case

 

and get the second one instead?

This one works. I didn't use the metal case hope it reduces heat. Inside it looks somewhat similar to the first one above. Didn't try the other ones.
