Hi Gen8 Microserver Owners,

I was just starting up my Gen8 and loading SVR2016 but need to upgrade the RAM since this an older type PC/Server my options seem limited . Please can someone tell me if i either of these RAM modules will work in my Gen8. I looked through the forum but couldnt find my answers a 100%

Crucial (CT102464BD160B) 8GB DDR3 1600 Desktop RAM (1.35V/1.5V)

Kingston 8GB Single DDR3 1600 - (KVR16N11/8)

Kingston ValueRam (KVR16LN11/8) 1.35V (Low Voltage) 8GB DDR3 1600 Desktop Ram

Patriot Signature (PSD38G16002H) 8GB Single DDR3-1600

Please can someone tell me if either if these would work ? Are these non registered ECC RAM ?

Thanks. Can someone please send me compatible Kingston RAM model number. Crucial see very expensive.

Does it matter if I mix n match model manufacturer of RAM?

The issue am finding is it's cause it's DDR3 RAM it's hard to find nowadays.

Any help would be appreciated.

Checked and confirmed. This was my original order:

Also got a second gen8 of which I made a pic for you (live server), slightly different modules:

Both are unregistered ecc udimm modules.

Spot the difference, you linked the CT102464 module, I pointed to the CT102472. Sadly no longer available in the crucial store, the second is also out of stock.

This is the search string I use in eBay:

16gb 2x8gb ddr3 1600 ecc -non -registered -reg -rdimm -12800r

Some people dont list modules correctly so you need to check part numbers before you buy.

Unbuffered ECC is good, Registered ECC is bad.

In the US, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 Unbuffered ECC on eBay are $99.99.
