jsox
You mentioned Plume... I bought 1 super pod plus 2 regular pods for $39 on a deal direct from them a couple of months ago. That deal is still on. Or 1 super plus 4 regular for $99. I'm guessing they won't let you buy 2 x (1S + 2R) for $78 or what would be the point of the $99 offer? The lifetime membership for $200 seems like a lot but I think the biggest risk is that of any "lifetime" membership deal. Whether or not the company stays around long enough to get you money's worth. I remain completely satisfied with the Plume setup in my house. Also, it looks like you can get a 1 year membership for $60 if you want then drop it and the pods keep working even without an active membership. And the features keep getting better. They have parental controls by device in the app now. I also really like how they offer multiple kinds of access on a single SSID depending on which password you give someone. Relatives visited recently and I was able to give them Internet (only) WiFi in about 30 seconds, then kill the password after they left.
Dave
I keep seeing more good things about Plume and the SuperPod. The older pods wouldn't have worked in my house but I think a mixture of Super and regular would be good. Here is what I came up with: Super Pods - 2 Pods - 7 Kit $99 1 Super 4 Pod $99 for additional Super $39 * 3 for Pods Sub Total - $315 Membership $60 Total $375 I could sell the eeros and probably break even. I have 6 regular eeros, one gen 2, and one wall plug in unit. That, or suck it up and go Ubiquiti.

That, or suck it up and go Ubiquiti.Which Ubiquiti model? Wasn’t sure which were recommended for a home environment.Have tested Eero Gen 2, Open Mesh and Orbi and have settled on Orbi (incl an Outdoor satellite). Never tried the Ubiquiti Amplifi HD though. Jason
Which is recommended for a home env, Ubiquiti UAP AP PRO or the UAP AC HD?I read that the LR (long range) is mainly geared at large, open areas like offices or warehouses.
Jason
Btw just ordered a Cloudkey and AC HD access point. Going to see whether I can get away with a single AP centrally mounted. The HD seems more future proof than the AC AP PRO, but not sure how they perform yet?
Dave
I think a couple of guys here have the UAP-AC-Pro. The HD ones are expensive but look to be the better of the two so I'm betting you will be ok. 4x4 vs 3x3 right?
Jason
Thanks. Yes, the HD is 4x4 MU-MIMO. I’ll move this to another thread. Apologies.
Dave
It's fine here. Discussion of the podcast. However, it would be nice if you did a writeup of your experiences with it.
