Replace Gen8 PSU

Hi forum members!

Anyone had any experience on replacing the PSU of the Gen8 microserver with a PSU different than the original HP one? The original one is super expensive! I was reading something about a proprietary connector :( Is there any PSU model from a 3rd party who would fit on the Microserver Gen8?

Thanks in advance!

Mine goes fine with picoPSU-160-XT

I know about only two other options, the Seasonic and the FSP. Both are mentioned in the linked topics above.

How many HDD's you have in your server?

Well, currently none :) It's under construction, so only an SSD and an LSI RAID card and a few extra fans on 5V are in it. It eats about 36W idle. I have 4 WD greens in my old server to move into this one after I've finished the pimping and configuration. My goal is the minimal noise, that's why I'm using the picoPSU.

This 160-XT type picopsu  doesn't need minimal consumption to work correctly and also have large overhead for my future needs.
