binary_data
Hello, and thanks for reading. I'm not actually sure what generation my microserver is, the docs are "version 14 - 2011" and it's a 1.5GHz Turion II if that helps identify it. I've read about the onboard SATA controller limitation of 2TB drives, and am wondering if I can just add a recent HBA card (once I find one that is the correct size!) to support larger drives? Something like a http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA_new/series_r600-overview.htm 640L I was thinking. I'll go an measure the length of the metal plates at the back of the current blanked PCI-express gaps. Thanks again.
richu75
You’ll be better of picking up a lsi2008 based sas hba on ebay. Something like a m1015 and crossflash it to IT mode. Most likely cheaper and better support in all major os.I picked one up for $45, including sas tot sata cables and a low profile bracket included. schoondoggy
It looks like you have an N40l. There is no 2TB limit on the SATA controller. Did you have an issue with drive capacity?
