schoondoggy 895
The Bose 151 would be good as part of a surround system, but I think they would be to small for the pool area. I would put a pair of good 6.5" woofer two way outdoor speakers for the pool area. I would center the TV on the wall under the roof. Although it may be overkill I would put at least 5.1 or 7.1 surround in the TV area. You could mount the speakers in the frame work over head, maybe front and center channels on or near the TV. You could put a subwoofer in the building near the wall. Speakers like these work well for mounting overhead: http://www.bostonacoustics.com/US/Product/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?CatId=HomeAudio(BostonAcoustics_US)&SubCatId=Outdoor(BostonAcoustics_US)&Pid=SoundWare(BostonAcoustics)After a day in the pool, the kids like to watch a movie with all the surround audio. Jason 84
I have Boston Acoustics in-ceiling mounted speakers. They’re wonderful. Some even have cones that can be “aimed.”
ImTheTypeOfGuy 55
My friends is a 55 inch Samsung. I have a 42 inch Samsung I believe. Both of those are going strong, multiple years on each. I have the Bose 151s at my current house and I do not like them for the pool as they sound a bit weak. But under my covered patio they do fine. At my previous house I had Klipsch speakers and they do have a four or 5 inch woofer and they were much better for the pool. Edited March 29, 2018 by ImTheTypeOfGuy
Dave 434
Ok, pending approval from the CFO I'm looking at this. Receiver https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZYRWSQY/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza https://hometheaterreview.com/yamaha-aventage-rx-a770-av-receiver-reviewed/ I can mount these: https://www.amazon.com/Bose-Environmental-Speakers-elegant-speakers/dp/B0001H9TGS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522357344&sr=8-1&keywords=bose+151&dpID=41CLEyXqMVL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch on the side of the TV with these: https://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Direct-Universal-Soundbar-Bracket/dp/B00823170Y But I don't have a center channel speaker. That was solved with the whole sound bar attempt. This? https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Portable-Bluetooth-Waterproof-Subwoofer/dp/B0755B2P1J/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522357509&sr=1-3&keywords=outdoor+tv+sound+bar&dpID=41GzIbvPQRL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch#customerReviews Or do another set of the Bose 151's and use one as the center speaker. Leaves one left over as a spare. Klipsch Speakers to put music on pool guests https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-AW-650-Indoor-Outdoor-Speaker/dp/B00096ZRJ4/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1522095061&sr=8-33&keywords=outdoor+speakers TV? Dave 434
I found the SmartCast line by Vizio. Is that the "tuner-less" TV you may have been referring to? I don't know, at those prices, I'm betting I could go to Wal-Mart and get a 55" for half that price.
schoondoggy 895
I think the Klipsch are a good choice for the pool area, but they are big, 9.5 x 11 x 15 in. Will the CFO find them astetically pleasing? For the TV mount are you looking at stationary-flat and close to the wall or something that will tilt and angle? It may be tough to mount the speakers to the TV, but it may be easier to mount them to the bracket that holds the TV.
schoondoggy 895
Klipsch has a outdoor center channel speaker, big and pricey: http://www.klipsch.com/products/outdoor-speakers?model=aw-500-sm or something more affordable: https://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-ccs-33b-3-3-4-3-way-center-channel-speaker-black--300-
