5aq1b
Hi guys, I've just installed a HP NC364T Quad Nic card in both my Gen8 Proliants, and noticed the fan speed has went from 5% to 20%. Nothing's plugged into them yet. Is this expected behaviour? And is there any way to reduce the fan speed...safely? I have installed them, without having to install any driver as ESXi has picked them up however I'm wondering if the 'correct' driver is required or not..which could make a difference with the fan speed? Screenshots below show installed driver version, and recommended driver version respectively.
schoondoggy
You can adjust the cooling profiles in the BIOS, then monitor the temperature in iLo.
