Recommended Posts

Phil Croxford

Hi,

Not sure if this is a taboo subject?? but delete if needed.

I have bought a Gen 10 Micro Server for my home so i can run a Plex Server in house. i have all the drivers and updates that i need from the HP website

but gone and noticed that the Bios update i need from what i can gather i need a contract? I'm not sure what to do?

how do i get the bios update for this server?

when i bought this server its running on 5.12 version with a build date of 05/25/2017 so my bios is well out of date.

can any one guide me in the right direction to get the update?

thanks

Just noted that there's a new BIOS out for Gen10.

I haven't flashed it yet, but this addition in the release notes might make some people happy:

- Integrate Marvell RAID utility into BIOS shell.

Ok, like an idiot I didn;t download the latest Gen10 BIOS before my 12month warranty ran out and now I can;t download it. Thanks HP.

Does anyone have a copy of the latest (360) BIOS they can host or email me please?

      Greetings,

I'm new to the HPMSG8 world and so far I'm loving it. I have a stock Xeon with 16G of aftermarket memory with iLO patched to 2.70. Next up is adding a RAID card, so I can put my boot SSD on the onboard RAID. I picked up a LSI SAS9211-8i on Amazon, but am struggling to flash it to IT mode on the MicroServer. Is this even possible? Unfortunately, the only other system I have with PCI slots is 32-bit.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, I have just installed Windows Server 2019 Standard (Desktop Experience) using the latest (WS2016) HP AMD chipset & VGA driver. Everything is recognised in Device Manager and stable.

I need to update the firmware on a HP Proliant Microserver Remote Access Card installed in my N40L.

Can someone please explain what I need to do to create a boot device that will update the firmware on the Remote Access Card?

      Thanks

I installed a BU50N Blu-ray 4K drive in my HPE ProLiant Gen8 MicroServer.  Worked out well, I'm using PowerDVD13 -- I had to restart the "Machine" several times before it saw the ODD but "Machine" finally figured it out.
