Synology announces Moments Photo Organizer

Recommended Posts

Dave

Synology recently announced a beta for an awesome looking photo organizer.  Moments.  Moments manages your photos in an innovative way, where an image-recognition technique identifies the people, subjects, and places in your pictures and sorts them automatically, allowing you to instantly browse, search, and share your precious moments.

Join the beta here.  Stay tuned for more information and a good look at this beta.  I've got a DS218+ waiting to be unboxed and this would be the perfect box to test Moments with!

Dave, Synology knocked out of the park with this app. My whole family loves the application... We can really spend more looking at our photos and less time looking for them or worrying about organizing them, The 'people, subjects and places is outstanding and almost spot on. Want to see all the pictures with birds? Just click on birds.....AMAZING to say the least. I was using Plex for my photos, No more. Screen shot of the default albums from my moments below-

I have been playing with this as well, need an apple IOS/TVOS and Android app so you can play directly onto a "big screen"

Wow, talk about stealing from others. Googles sorting, facebooks name, and similar logo to facebooks.

Is this available for everyone. I can’t see it in the available programs/apps on my DS916+

Yes its available to everyone but it's beta software so you need to enable it in package center, Follow the steps below-

1) Make sure your running the latest (stable) version of DSM v6.1.4-15217 update 5

2) Open up package center and click on settings then click on Beta, Put a tick in "yes, I want to see beta versions" and click OK.

3) go to multimedia and you should see Moments listed..

Now I am looking at it moments it does not look like its beta anymore but the steps I provided above won't hurt....

Did a manual update by downloading from Synology downloads.
