1611 Fan 1 Failure

Fan Solution Not Suffcient

Hello,

Frist topic here.

After 2 years my HP Server shut down.

I got that error when i try to boot it up.

After some research i know the Fan is the problem :)

I am from Romania. I did not find that fan here.... i was able to find it in USA for 60 $ + Shipping + Taxes. (Over 100 $)

Anyone got any ideea how can i replace that fan ? I sow some people say NOCTUA NF-P12 other say  Fractal Design Venturi High Pressure HP-12 PWM

I am sick already to search for a machine for parts on ebay.

I need some help here.

Thank you all.

You can DIY a 6-pin (hp motherboard) to 3/4-pin (fan) connector, so that you are able to use any 3/4-pin fans.

Google "gen8 6-pin fan connector", you will know how to DIY one.

If you don't know how to DIY, like me, then get one from Taobao (not sure you can accuse it or not), around USD$2 + shipping.

Will HP bios be able to see the new fan ?  Because i already modify a old fan and my server light bar is swiching to orange... then blue than back to orange :)

I can't use it like this.

Do i have to update the bios ?

Sorry for so many questions !

The led from my server go from orange to blue... then back orange.

Cooler is working but i suppose there is another problem.

I was thinking to try a bios update... but after some reading don`t know if is a good ideea. The new bios might do things worse or better.

Anyone encounter this kind of problem after changing the fan?

I found a AFB1212HHE from DELTA. I ask a friend of mine to swich the cable :) from the one broken to the new one.

In my mind this fan is the problem. Not beeeing HP branded it is not fully recognaized by motherboard.

Got no ideea how to solve the problem.

hmmm... really don't know then, may be fan issue, maybe connection issue...

I think you got no choice but have to build a new one set

the one you quoted is very noisy...

It is not about how noise is doing ! Is just not working how it should.
