The 32Gb thing isnt the issue tbh, we're on 16Gb now, 32Gb is better, granted 64/128 would of been better still but hey..

No iLo, no socketted CPU and, even though its Zen, really limited on the CPU front..

Given we missed the Gen9 entirely Gen10 is a pretty big disapointment...

If they are cheap enough I would get one to stick in a family members house for off site backup and watching films on but what is the base cpu like compared to gen8s base cpu

Yeah I had a cheeky look at work but not finding much. All depends on price too if they do a cashback option again

Not likely.

http://www.amd.com/en/opteron says the x3000 series features GCN3 graphics. Naples is 4th gen GCN.

So prolly 'Bristol Ridge' or similar architecture.

That would be another letdown.

Hybrid Bristol Ridge for server applications a quick Google seems to suggest with info posted by a Victor Salim, MTS Product Dev Engineer at AMD..

Sure i had read somewhere they were meant to be Zen based, man this Gen10 gets worse :(

  • 4 months later...

Too bad, I was looking forward to getting something better then the Gen8/9 but looks like they went backwards.

I'll pass.

Maybe Gen 11
