B140i Smart Array Driver Issue? ml30

Recommended Posts

Sorry for my English)

Hi all!
I think the problem seems to be affecting write performance to ssd disks.
Reading speed is 700 MB/s but writing speed is 43 MB/s. (raid driver 62.12.0.64, windows server 2012 r2)
Someone knows the solution??
One guy said that previous driver (62.0.0.64) works well, but this driver can not be installed
:(

Is it one SSD? or multiple SSD's?  RAID0? What SSD's are you using?

Check this post:

and it's thread -- looks like it's a duplicate of what you are experiencing...........

Port 1 - SSD 1
Port 2 - SSD 2
Port 3 - HDD 1
Port 4 - HDD 2

SSD - Reading speed is 700 MB/s, writing speed is 43MB/s
HDD - Reading speed is 260 MB/s, writing speed is 180 MB/s

Ports 5,6 - empty

I do not believe that you guys are not using B140i for SSD's and
I do not believe that writing speed is more faster 60-80 MB/s (Exception is HP disks)

Write who what uses and write performance.
Thanks!

Currently, with a Samsung 840 Pro on Port5 I'm getting ~500 Read & ~150-160 Write with CDM,

With a RAID0 of 4 VelociRaptors in Ports1-4 I was getting ~700 READ & 140 Write with CDM then I turned on Cache in SSA and my Write speed jumped to about 650-700 for the RAID0 VR's but didn't change for the SSD

In Port6 I have a 1TB VR in RAID0 with ~200Read & 200Write

Last year I had two SSDs in Ports 1 & 2, each in a RAID0, and both were showing Read & Writes of ~500 each after changing setting in SSA for the B140i

I need to spend more time reading up and messing with the SSA settings I think for the B140i.

This is what I was seeing before enabling Write Cache in B140i for the 4 VR's in RAID0

After enabling Write Cache I saw this for the 4VRs

And for the SSD on Port 5

And the VR on Port 6

Not sure why this is happening -- last year when I had SSDs and I enabled Write Cache I was getting full Write performance from the Samsung SSDs

I'm still messing with the settings in the B140i to see what happens -- would appreciate any one's ideas on this
