Samsung in talks to buy SmartThings

Would be nice to see Samsung integrate their washer and drywers with home automation to alert us when the washer or dryer has stopped.  Maybe a refridgerator that could use SmartThings to alert us the door was left open or that the inside temperature is too warm.

This should probably help drive the Android development of the SmartThings app.

Will be interesting to see where this takes SmartThings.

I have to admit that when I first heard this news I wasn't very happy.  I don't particularly care for the Galaxy line of phones and I don't like their Android skins at all.  The more I think about it the more I think it can be great for SmartThings and the community.  Let's hope that any changes are for the better.

Didn't SmartThings announce some time ago that they wanted out of the sensor business?  I would hope that any buyer would keep a line of sensors alive.  My experience with adding non-smartthing sensors is not as seamless as I had hoped.

Lastly, as far as I know, the deal is not done, right?
