Dave
How many Home Automation Hub Systems are available today? I was looking through the ALYT startup and wondering if there was room for these guys in the market. Help me make a list, without discussion, unless it's a debate of who needs to be on the list or not. Copy and paste the list and add to it. Links too. Next we will do end devices. Sensors, plugs, switches, etc. The New Breed Revolv - http://revolv.com/ SmartThings - http://smartthings.com Staples Connect - http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/staples-connect/?cmSearchKeyword=staples+connect ALYT - (not yet viable) https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alyt-the-first-android-based-self-learning-smarthome-security-manager#home Piper - http://getpiper.com/ Belkin WeMo - http://www.belkin.com/us/Products/home-automation/c/wemo-home-automation/ Nexia Home - http://www.nexiahome.com/ Vera - http://getvera.com/ Iris (lowes) - http://www.lowes.com/ContentDisplayView?articleTitle=Iris&lwpg=239939199&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&storeId=10151 Homeseer - http://www.homeseer.com/ Alarm.com - http://alarm.com Aeotec - http://aeotec.com/z-wave-home-automation The Old Guard - Established Crestron - http://www.crestron.com/markets/home_theater_and_whole_house_home_automation/ Control4 - http://control4.com Telco/CableCo This post has been promoted to an article

schoondoggy
as the Staples hub is manufactured by D-Link in the previous Staples hub was manufactured by Linksys I have to wonder how long it will be before hub technology will be incorporated into all networking technology. TimothyWMurray
I just discovered SmartHomeDB . It lists dozens of platforms and hundreds of devices with compatibility info. It seems to be current as of today. But who knows if that will last. http://preview.shdb.co/faq

curiousbunny
I wonder how many of them will become defunct in a few years as home automation still isn't mainstream.
