Wi-Fi Isn't Working Correctly On My 928

A few weeks ago my Nokia Lumia 928 just stopped working on my home network Wi-Fi. I've got it set up to work with the 802.11ac network, which it's worked with fine for months. But now, nope. My wife also has a Lumia 928, and it too connects to the same 802.11ac band. And it works fine. As an experiment I went to a public Wi-Fi at a local Wendy's restaurant to test the Wi-Fi on my 928. It worked fine there. I don't know for certain, but I suspect it was using 802.11g, or maybe even something slower.

My router is a Netgear Nighthawk R7000.

So why is my Lumia 928 deciding that it no longer wants to work with my Wi-Fi?

It looks like the phone only does 802.11n at 5Ghz:

WiFi: 2.4GHz 802.11a, b, g, n & 5GHz 802.11n

Have you tried connecting at 2.4Ghz?

Here is what your router supports:

  • IEEE® 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz + 256 QAM support
  • IEEE® 802.11 a/n/ac 5.0GHz
