Don W
So I took the plunge and bought a Surface 2 Pro and have noticed that when I transfer files to and from my Surface to my Server I get really slow transfer speeds like around 10MBS even though on my main PC to server I get the normal 110MBS. Is this normal??? As a side note, I also bought the dock so it is the same if the transfer is Ethernet or WiFi.
schoondoggy
When you are docked have you turned off the WiFi?
ImTheTypeOfGuy
Why don't the manufacturers automatically turn off WiFi when docked. Dell used to do this and it worked great. Sent from my Lumia Icon via Tapatalk
Don W
From doing more research, the ethernet port on the dock is actually a USB 2.0 to ethernet adapter and is not very fast at all, according to some Technet forum posts everyone is upset that the transfer speeds are so slow on both the Pro 2 and the dock. Why didn't they make it a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter? Why does Microsoft do these things? If they wanted to develop this platform and tout it as a great platform and then skimp on connectivity.
