edamiga1
This might have already been answered, but I could not find it. I keep hearing on the byob podcast, not to use the default cables that come with the system. I currently have been doing this, but am about to upgrade my server and want to get new cables. What brand of SATA cables are people using and where to buy. I am currently running Sata 2, but would like recommendations for both if possible. pcdoc
I have had excellent luck with OK gear cables. They make Sata II and III cable in varying colors and lengths and are available through Newegg, or for much less via monoprice.com however you do not know that you are buying that brand as monoprice does not state it even thought you are. Suggest getting the thinner solid color versions not the clear ones. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10226
Guest no-control
Satacables.com isn't too expensive either. I buy from monoprice since they are right up the street from me. Cheap + no shipping = win!
jmwills
Another vote for MonoPrice. Just make sure you get cables with the locking ends; makes for a secure connection.
usacomp2k3
YMMV, but I've always used the cables that came with the motherboards without issue. *shrug*
Guest no-control
Some boards come with decent connectors Gigabyte comes to mind. But sometimes the connectors blow or you need a length longer or shorter than they provide.
