Call Blocking On Windows Phone

Recommended Posts

LawnPaul

Call + SMS filter is NOT on by default. You must go into settings and toggle it on.

You found it on the AT&T display models but it just wasn't toggled on?  Is that something you do in settings?

Yes, need to tap settings, and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Reference screen shot attached.

More info.

The 1020 in store should have this available in settings, but the 920, and 925 are unable too, because the demo units are blocking this update/feature. I'm in the store as I type this.

Took a snap shot, but I'm getting an image upload error right now. I'll try later at home on my computer.

Take a look. I have the Nokia Account setting as the first item on both phones. But just under that you can see one has the filter and the other does not. When I tried to update the phone on the right, it was blocked due to it being a demo model. So, you may not see that feature on

a demo unit, but any phone you buy, and update if needed, call blocking and SMS blocking does exist.

LawnPaul --

Just an Update:

You were absolutely correct.  Out of the Box a new 1020 doesn't have but charge the battery and hit phone update a few bazillion times and there it is!

Got 2 Nokia 1020's -- took one home today and the other is on order and should be here next week sometime.  I have a black one on order -- the one we took home is yellow and is my wife's but I've been setting it up for her and showing her what I've learned as I go along.  She's pretty excited -- this is a big jump in technology for her (both of us actually).

Thank you again for your time and effort -- it made a big difference!!

Awesome news! I've been paying with the 1020's this past week, and I really like feel of them. The matte finish on the black seems easier to hold then the matte on the 920's.

Of of my employees got an otterbox for his. Its EXTREMELY secure as far as phone cases go, but otterbox's are just to big for me. I'd rather risk it with no case, and enjoy the phone itself. Cases remind me of a time when people would put plastic covers on their couches.

My wife is thinking of the wireless charger so that she doesn't have to plug it in at nite to charge.  Since she's keeping it in her purse she doesn't see the need for a protective case.

I'm thinking along the same lines -- may go with the wireless charger too but I'm also thinking I'd like to get the camera grip w/extra battery for vac's.

Okay so today Best Buy opened up pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 920! I hopped in my car and drove down to ours and got my self one pre-ordered.

One thing though, if you pre-order at the store, it is only the matte black one. I was really wanting the cyan one but black will do. That was my second choice.

On the otherhand, if you pre-order online, you can choose which color. Weird, I know... Colors you can choose from are: Black, Red, Yellow, Cyan, White.

As of right now, AT&T has not started pre-orders. I called and verified that with them.

It appears that Best Buy underestimated the demand for the Lumia 920. http://www.wpcentral.com/att-nokia-lumia-920-preorders-sell-out-online
